How Does Business Insurance Work?

Business insurance is simply a contract between an insurance company and a business wherein the business makes premium payments in exchange for the insurance company assuming the risk in the event of a loss or claim. If there is a loss or claim, the insurance company incurs the financial loss up to the limit of the policy after the deductible amount is paid by the business filing the claim.

Normally at the time of the loss, the business files a claim and usually an insurance adjuster is assigned to assess the damage and process the claim. Once the claim is settled, the business then receives the appropriate financial compensation for the loss. There are different scenarios with regards to how claims are filed and settled and we’d be more than happy to discuss this in greater detail.
